Carmakers should freely tailor products to customers who value specialised comfort features, provided no buyer is excluded from purchasing them.
Features such as heating and convenient storage should be offered as universal options instead of being assigned to a particular gender.
Gender-targeted editions can be acceptable, but advertising should avoid implying that women drive less competently or need simpler controls.
Manufacturers should rely on user research across different body types, disabilities and lifestyles rather than broad stereotypes about female customers.
The priority should be vehicle safety, cost and environmental performance, with decorative or lifestyle-oriented features playing a secondary role.
Potential customers should decide whether the positioning is useful or patronising, while independent reviewers scrutinise any misleading technical claims.
