Poland is facing a renewed dispute over compulsory health education and the place of religion in schools. Catholic bishops have criticised the changes, while a child-protection foundation has urged the Constitutional Tribunal not to block health education. PiS MPs have announced a constitutional challenge to parts of the programme. The controversy combines sexual-health education, religion, parental authority and the state's responsibility toward children. Rather than treating it as a simple ideological dispute, the central question is who should have the greatest influence over school content.
